What on earth is a brand strategy?

What is with this “Brand Plan" (my name for a Brand Strategy because, I like different!)

Just show me my logo already.

Well, I cannot wait to create a logo in collaboration with you. But before we do that, we need to do a bit of pre-work. Because yes, we definitely want a beautiful logo. But much more important than that, we also want something that is going to connect with your ideal customer. 

Something that creates an emotional connection with your dream client. Something that makes someone’s heart sing because they feel seen. Something that makes people feel like they are part of something special. 

But to make this emotional connection, we first must establish a few VERY important little details. Such as: Why do you do what you do? What do you stand for? What are you going to deliver other than your product and service? Who will benefit? And once you have your loyal fans, how are you going to keep connecting with them to make them feel valued? 

From this very abundant bowl of the most lovely ingredients we can make the most delicious drool-worthy cake. Wait, I mean - brand! But hey, cake works too. 


In case you got distracted by fantasising about cake, that fantasy cake in your head is your brand. More than just a nice, eye-catching logo. More than just a fun icon on instagram. It is what people say about you when you are not in the room. It is the FEELING they get when they think of your brand. 

YOUR brand. Not anyone else’s. Because a brand is created from within a business, which means that no one else out there has your exact set of ingredients. So no one else can replicate your amazing cake. How awesome is that? 

From this very solid foundation that is your Brand Plan, we can draw out so much goodness which will connect with your audience. 

Some will argue that this “plan” is not really necessary, or a graphic designer’s job. Sure, but what is really Necessary™? Cake? No. But it is delicious. And I strongly believe a delicious brand plan is the best way of giving your brand a chance to stand out in a busy market - not to mention attracting your ideal client & growing your business.
